ART Furthers CART Market Penetration With Device Sale to Dan Gurney's All American Racers

Advanced Racing Technologies of Staatsburg New York today announced the sale of another of its new "Indy-Transit" laser devices to Dan Gurney's All American Racers. The portable device optically calibrates a chassis' reference plane as mandated by 1996 IndyCar rules. According to AAR, the device will immediately be applied to the design and setup of its Castrol/Toyota/Eagle Mark V's.

The "Indy-Transit" was originally developed for use in conjunction with IndyCar's pre-race technical program. The system was introduced as a prototype during the season's March 3rd kick-off at Homestead Florida. After this highly successful acceptance test, the device became an integral component of IndyCar's pre-race inspection.

According to AAR's John Ward, the system was initally purchased to aid the team in performing critical, shop-based, chassis calibrations during design modifications and prior to each event. New plans, however, call for AAR to carry the "Indy-Transit" to Portland as a set-up aid on the Eagles of Juan Manuel Fangio II and P.J. Jones.
